A new community enrichment and senior center is being developed in Room 405 AB in the High School. An open house from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 21 will unveil the new site accessible from the athletic lobby parking lot off Bender Road. There will be open hours for seniors to socialize, play cards and board games, participate in community projects and have the opportunity to enroll in various workshops.
Many of the youth and adult enrichment programs begin the week of Sept. 18. Youth classes offered include self-defense, karate - beginner and advanced, crochet, computer coding, Sing Song Yoga, cheer and baton.
Adult programs include intermediate and advanced art, karate, crochet, a cooking class, water aerobics and Zumba.
The 55-plus and Fabulous programs include trips to the Fulton Street Farmers Market and Downtown Market, a Walk and Talk day with the a TK administrator along the Paul Henry Trail, reception and first look at the TKHS fall play at the dress rehearsal and reception; holiday luncheon and concern, and a trip to the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute.
