Class of 2025 Gathers for Last First Day

“I love it. I think it’s a good thing to do to bring us all back together,” said Sophia Etterman.

Her friend Aleese Lambert agreed. “It’s a good experience and something you only get to do once. It’s a good way to start the year off.”

Parents of the Class of 2025 organized the event offering coffee and breakfast treats for the early risers. A red carpet placed under the “Pride, Class, Tradition” led students into the stadium and the early celebration of being a senior. The sign was surrounded by a row of orange, black and white balloons for the special occasion.

Students posed for photos on the red carpet and with Class of 2025 signs. TK mascot Tommy Trojan re-ignited their school spirit for the upcoming year. Before heading off to classes, the seniors and the school mascot, all stood together in a circle around the Trojan emblem on the field - for one memorable last, first day photo.

The tradition of the Senior Sunrise started with the Class of 2022. Each year, the number of seniors willing to make the earlier-than-normal morning wake-up call seems to increase. At the end of the school year, they’ll gather again on the field to celebrate their last day of school together for their senior sunset.
