There were 20 members of the FFA team competing in five categories: marketing, veterinary science, floriculture, forestry and agricultural mechanics.
TKHS marketing team of Case Shellenbarger, Zach Heinbeck and Lydia Slagel placed 2nd, earned a gold award and are a state alternate team for the national competition.
TK had two veterinary science teams. The team of Alexa Hoeksma, Emily Stevens, Paige Sheely and Vivian Hasson placed 13th in the state and Stevens placed 26th individually in the state out of 400 individuals.
A second TKHS veterinary science team also competed. Team members are Abigail LaJoye, Noelle Smith, Erika Wolowicz, and Charlotte Dykstra.
In the floriculture category, Kaymn Hiemstra placed 27th in the state out of more than 400 contestants. Also competing were Makayla Dillion, Addie Petersen, Rian Allen, McKenzie Strouse.
TK also had three team members compete in forestry. They are Maguire Simmons, Lilly DeLine, and Brodie Converse. One team member, Emma Reil, competed in agricultural mechanics.
