This special event honors and acknowledges contributions made by men and women who have served in any branch of the armed forces at any time. Veterans who plan to attend should contact Mindy Wert at the high school at 269-795-5441 or [email protected]. Veterans are welcome to wear their uniforms and provide a photo (if they haven’t already done so in previous years) to be included in a slide show. Each veteran attending, will have their name called in recognition.
The program will feature tributes from students. The high school Honors Choir and TK Band will perform special selections and students will provide their own readings and thoughts as they honor veterans.
Andrew Beck was recently named Middleville’s honored veteran for 2022 and will be the guest speaker at Friday’s TKHS event. Beck is a U.S. Army veteran having served in Iraq. He currently serves as the president of the Middleville Lions Club, volunteers with Thornapple Valley Church, and is a member of the Middleville Downtown Development Authority board.
The past two years, the high school continued the tradition of the Veterans Day program, but did so through prerecorded video shared with students in classrooms and made available for the public to watch.
