McFall speech pathologist Molly Stevens nominated Straub, saying she is an amazing teacher with great classroom management and innovation in the classroom.
A message inside the award notification delivered said, "You have been selected as a teacher who embodies the definition of innovation. Thank you for your dedication, passion and perseverance. Those around you have felt very bit of it, and today we show our gratitude!"
The Roots in Education grant is awarded to educators who have had a positive impact on their students and the school community. LMCU’s Roots in Education program will make $1,000 awards to 25 teachers. There were more than 340 nominations for the grant awards this year.
Grant funds can be used toward anything that benefits the educational process such as purchasing classroom supplies or aiding in online learning.
