TKHS Named as a 2020 Best High School in Nation

The rankings also list school districts by state and region. Within the Grand Rapids Metro Area, Thornapple Kellogg High School is ranked 26th among the 112 schools ranked.

TK Superintendent Rob Blitchok said the ranking is a testament to TK’s outstanding staff, students and community. “Our students are given valuable resources and opportunities at TKHS to prepare them for life beyond high school - whether it’s going immediately into the workforce, obtaining skilled training or moving on to a traditional college or university. We want our students to be well-rounded with a strong educational foundation.”

High School Principal Tony Petersen agreed. “We’re extremely proud of our student achievements in many areas and will continue working and growing our educational opportunities for all students.”

U.S. News receives AP and IB data directly from the College Board and International Baccalaureate, respectively, for use in the rankings. The state assessment data and graduation rates are from each state, and other data comes from the U.S. Department of Education Common Core of Data.

With today’s launch, U.S. News has published detailed school-specific information on enrollment, graduation rates, student body demographics, location, school type and results of state assessments, as well as Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests.
