High School Principal Tony Petersen commended the students for their hard work that has brought them to this honor. “You now join an elite group of students in the country,” he said.
Superintendent Rob Blitchok also offered praise and offered some advice. “Don’t stop here. Mark this honor as the beginning of many successful endeavors,” he said. “Never rest on your laurels – always strive for more.”
Members of National Honor Society must have a minimum 3.5 grade point average. They are then invited to write an essay demonstrating their leadership, service and character in addition to their commitment to scholarship. A five-member faculty council at the high school is charged with determining the final honorees.
Teacher Christian See is the NHS adviser. “It is more than just a cord you wear at graduation. It’s how you live life,” she said.
